My deepest sympathy to the Mazer families.
I have a memory of Bob that I have shared with many Tree Planters in BC (whilst I was their Silviculture checker). I remember one Friday night in July (probably 1968 ish) Bob drove Plynn and myself up to Clear Lake. It was a gorgeous, sunny, hot Manitoba evening. I remember Bob saying "we are in for a big storm"!! There was no mention on the news/weather about a pending storm...just a hot and sunny weekend was the report. Bob told us that the leaves of the deciduous trees were 'flipped', he said that meant a change in the weather. He was absolutely right...that night it was one of those Huge rain drop Clear Lake rain storms. ...then in Bob fashion he also said " the cows are all lying down, that's another sign of a storm"( that he said with a devious smile and chuckle)!! By the by, only the tree story was told to the Tree Planters -I kept the cow theory to myself!
Rest in Peace Bob
