Marvin "Marv" Robinson
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marvin "Marv" Len Robinson in Winnipeg on March 16, 2025 at the age of 78. Marv was born to parents Harry and Marjorie on February 2, 1947 in Brandon, Manitoba. Marv was educated in the Brandon School Division and after graduating he worked for the City of Brandon as an engineer for the Water Plant then the Waste Water Plant for 38 years.
Marv loved all sports. In high school he played high school football with the Brandon Krugers.
He loved playing hockey and played with the Brandon Wheat King Junior B's for 2 years. His passion was baseball. He started playing baseball when he was 7 and continued playing into his adult life. He was inducted twice into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame for Baseball which was a great honour. He played senior baseball with the Brandon Cloverleafs, Riverside Canucks and St. Lazare Athletics. He later moved into coaching Girls Softball and Ringette, which his daughters played and was always eager to support young athletes.
Marv looked forward to meeting his early morning coffee buddies at Tim's. He loved a good laugh, great conversation, and made lasting friendships.
Marv spent many summers at the cabin at Clear Lake in the Old Camp Grounds. He always enjoyed to have the family come up and spend time. There he met incredible friends whom he cherished deeply. He enjoyed bike riding, walking, boating and fishing.
His family, grandsons meant everything to him. He supported them in any way he could, rarely missing their many varied activities. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Marv is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Eucilla; daughters Kylie (Darren)Bridge and Kerri (Kurt) Nicol; grandsons Reid and Kale Nicol; sister Robin(Jake) Thiessen; brothers-in-law Brian Wilkinson, Bob (Susan) Ash, Gene (Lynn) Ash as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, mother and father in-law, and two sisters. The service to celebrate Marv's life was held on Thursday, March 27 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. Johnathan Hoskins officiating.
A private family interment took place at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marv may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church- Memorial Fund, 361 Russell Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5H6 or to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-l7th St. E. Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 7A3.
