Obituary of Violet May Graham

Violet passed away on May 21, 2025, after her battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family at the Palliative Care Centre at the Assiniboine Centre.

Violet was known for her love of dancing, Disney movies, Christmas and sports. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Violet was born in Austin, Manitoba on April 19, 1940, growing up in Brandon, Manitoba. She married her first husband Lawrence Garrow in 1962, residing in Winnipeg.

Violet leaves to mourn her four daughters, Karen (David), Cindy (Jon), Debbie (Kevin), and Kim; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law.  She is predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Garrow (1984) and second husband Neil Graham (2003); as well as by her mom Ida (1994), dad Alfred (1988), sister Joan (2006), brother Bob “Robert” (2016) and grandson Raymond (2021).

We would like to thank Dr. Savannah and team for all the care that was provided to our mom during her cancer treatment. As well, to the nurses on the Palliative Care Unit, we express our heartfelt gratitude for the special care of our mom. To Kim, thank you for looking after mom for all these years.

A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery (Section 47) on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. where Violet will be laid to rest with Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of our dear Violet.
