Obituary of David Hrushowy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad, David Hrushowy, who died peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre in Brandon, Manitoba.

Through all of life’s challenges, he never stopped loving deeply, especially his family. He was a proud grandfather to his three grandchildren, and his eyes lit up whenever he spoke of them. David also took great pride in his Ukrainian heritage and had a deep love for the food and traditions that connected him to his roots.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: watching hockey, listening to the blues, tending to his garden, and sharing moments of connection with those he cared about. His lifelong love of gardening brought him peace and purpose, and his green thumb is a quiet but lasting legacy.

After a long and difficult road, David has finally found the peace he so richly deserves.

A funeral to celebrate his life will be held in the fall, with details to be shared at a later date.

David is survived by his two daughters and their families: Ivana and her husband Ray; as well as Maggie, her husband David and their children Gemma, John and Holly. 

He will be remembered with love.
