Arron, Andrea, Justin and family we are shocked and sorry to hear of Kathy's passing.
We met Kathy and Laurie through Andrea's ringette time as well as through Vern's and Laurie's professions and later as my golf partner for awhile. (which was always a blast)
We remember Kathy as a to the point genuine person. I always enjoyed my chats with her whenever I ran into her, always had a good story to tell me.
Our condolences to you all, cherish your memories and hold them close to your hearts.
Vern and Theresa Snyder

Kathy was my neighbor here in the south end of town. When she moved in I remember going up to her and asking if she was as scary as her big white dog lol. She laughed and BAM we would say hello and have small talk everytime we crossed paths. Very kind woman. She will be missed! My heart goes out to all that have come across her, and the family.

Dear Andrea, Aaron, Justin and families; we were so saddened to hear of your mom’s sudden passing. We have great memories of all the fun times we shared as our families were growing up together, in particular the hockey rinks, hotel rooms and house parties! You will miss her dearly- she loved you all so very much. Your Mom was a woman of many skills and talents but we will remember her most for her quick wit and dry humour. Oh how she made us all laugh.
In sympathy and friendship,
Garry and Janie McNish and families

I was so sad to hear of Mrs. DeRoo’s sudden passing. My entire family sends its deepest love to Andrea, Aaron, Justin, and the rest of the DeRoo and Mosiuk families.
I hold onto many lovely memories of growing up with the DeRoos. Mrs. DeRoo was always there, happily taking us in the black Dynasty to Curran Park, WeRVideo, or the downtown KFC (to accommodate my picky eating and love of fried chicken). As I grew older, we found shared interests, especially her amazing collection of antiques and the thrill of a good estate sale. Mrs. DeRoo’s presence at the house on Rideau is forever etched in my mind.
When I became an adult, we even got to work together at the MLCC. Now colleagues, this opened up a whole new chapter in our relationship, and she taught me many things about the booze trade. I even had to learn to call her Kathy, albeit reluctantly and in the third-person only!
Throughout the years, one constant was Mrs. DeRoo’s total kindness towards me. She made me feel welcome, loved, and special. May her memory and all of the happy moments sustain the family during this very difficult time.
