Obituary of Eleanor Brooking

Eleanor Mabel Brooking (nee Terry) passed away peacefully at Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon, MB on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ralph, sister Freda and brother Alfred; her children; Ginger, Terry (Jackie) Shane (Anne), & Derek (Bobbi). She will also fondly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as her extended family Royce (Janice), Sheila (Rich), and Wendy (Pierre) along with their children and grandchildren. Eleanor began her career at Nortel, working in various locations across Canada until residing in BC.  She completed her career as a Long Term Care Aide at Bastion Place in Salmon Arm, BC. Prior to residing at Fairview Home, Eleanor and Ralph made their home in Rivers and at Parkview Seniors Co-op after having moved here from BC after their marriage. She made many friends along the way in both Rivers and Brandon. She belonged to UCT, Rivers Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Rivers, Senior for Seniors and Parkview Pals. A Celebration of Life will be held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Chapel, 332 8^th Street, on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held in the spring in Napanee, Ontario. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
