Ronald Anderson

Obituary of Ronald Anderson

Ronald Earle Anderson passed away peacefully at Erickson Care Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the age of 82. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his twin brother Bill, Ron led a diverse career working for Neepawa Creamery and Weston Bakeries in his early years, before starting a successful career in auto sales at Fowler Pontiac/GMC, and ultimately Woodworth Chrysler Dodge in Shoal Lake, Manitoba.

In addition to his business pursuits, Ron was deeply involved in agriculture - he bought and sold cattle, showcased livestock at the Calgary Stampede (Champion in 2005), and operated a custom baling business whenever he could. Sports were another passion; he played fastball and curled competitively well into his fifties and sixties. Ron gave back to his community by umpiring for the MSBL and coaching his sons' baseball teams through many seasons. Hunting trips with his brothers and nephews were memories he cherished.

In retirement, Ron and his wife Reenie made their home in Shoal Lake, enjoying golfing, fishing, and lively card games among friends and family. As his health changed, Ron moved into the Shoal Lake Care Home. After Reenie passed away in July 2024, he was moved closer to his son Dale, living first at the Sandy Lake Care home, and finally in Erickson.

Ron is predeceased by his parents, Earle and Ruth; his brother Bill; and his sister Shirley (Bill). He is survived by his sister DonnaLee (Maynard) and his brother Lyle (Marlene). He leaves behind his children Dale (Dana), Shelley (Paul), and Ryan (Renee), as well as grandchildren Brady (Tenille), Brett (Matt), Alyx (Edward), Kenzie (Lucas), Danika (Brendan), Sophie, and Grae and several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2026.
