Eldon Hoglander

Obituary of Eldon Hoglander

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eldon Eugene Hoglander, who left us peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Westlock, AB.

Eldon was born on February 28, 1944, in Onanole, MB, to Manfred and Eleanor Hoglander. He spent his early years growing up alongside his brothers, Arnold and Dwayne, forming the strong family bonds that would remain important to him throughout his life.

He married Lorna Jackson in 1972 and together they had two children - Angela came first in 1972 and then Ryan completed the foursome in 1976. While raising his family in Lloydminster, Eldon dedicated his time to leading youth for a decade as a certified minor hockey coach. In his family time he enjoyed many years camping, spending time with extended family, and most importantly: GOLFING.

Golf became a favorite pastime and eventually developed into a family event - The Hoglander “Hoggy” Open. Each year the gentlemen of Hoglander decent (or affiliation) spent a long weekend together attempting to best each other on the golf course.

Eldon took great pride in his work and built a career in the construction industry that took him across the country. Along the way, he formed many lasting friendships, remembered by all for his warmth, humor, and easygoing nature.

Eldon is lovingly remembered by his lifetime friend and former wife, Lorna; his children, Angela (Todd) Andrews and Ryan (Ilona) Hoglander; and his cherished grandchildren, Emily Andrews (Adrian Kaye), Eric Andrews, Davin Hoglander, and Addyson Hoglander. He is also survived by his brothers, Arnold and Dwayne; sisters-in-law, Cheryle Hoglander and Gloria Caldwell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Eldon will be remembered for his quiet strength and his dedication to family. His legacy lives on in the traditions he created and the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Westlock Funeral Home and Crematorium entrusted with the arrangements.
