Daniel “Dan” Robleski
Daniel “Dan” Robleski passed away suddenly in Upsala, Ontario, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the age of 70 years. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Donna, daughters Kari (Bobby) and Sarah (Brad), grandchildren Brooklyn, Abby and Ty, brothers Marshall and Mike, sister Jo-Ann (late Garry) sister-in-law Beth as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Dan was predeceased by his parents Joan and Paul and mother and father-in-law Shirley and Archie.
Daniel was born on October 10, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario. The family moved to Brandon in August of 1960 where they resided at 32 10th St. North. Danny was a true “Northender”. Danny, Jo-Ann and Mike enjoyed their childhood in the North End. Danny had a strong sense of community, dedication and loyalty from a very young age. To this day he could tell you who lived in each home in the North End. Opening doors and inviting family and friends in was just the way of life. These sibling experiences continued and Danny cherished these relationships.
Danny attended David Livingston, Earl Oxford and BCI. All of those who knew Dan knew he had an incredibly strong work ethic, a profound understanding of how discipline, loyalty and respect work as these were lessons he learned from his years as an army cadet. This is also where his love for traveling began, being able to visit Montreal and Vernon, along with several other destinations over the years.
He started with the Canadian Pacific Railroad in 1975 on the Steel Gang. His future father-in-law, Archie Gillespie who also worked in signals, guided Dan to the signal department where he began in 1976. His love of the job and coworkers kept Dan working in signals well past retirement age. Over the years he worked from Thunder Bay to Swift Current, living in Regina, Portage, Chaplin, Moose Jaw and Brandon. He had many interests which included bowling, baseball, and watching hockey. His favorite teams included the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Brandon Wheat Kings. Danny barely missed a Wheat King game; he was a loyal fan. He also loved the Pittsburg Steelers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Raising 2 daughters he was more than actively involved in coaching and mentoring their busy schedules of Ringette, Soccer, and ball. He was an active community member by supporting the downtown biz and enjoyed the Wednesday morning meetings. He also looked forward to Halloween and supporting Cedar Bay Scare Away Hunger at Mike and Carla’s where he was instrumental in the setup, the theatrics, and the take down for the past few years.
He was a pillar and a rock to so many.
Forever in our hearts
