Sage was a young man proud of his Dakota identity, wearing his braid every day until the passing of his Pépère, whom he loved with all his heart. Sage cut his braid in his honour to regrow. Sage had a smile that could lift your spirits when he came around you. He was always caring for his family, friends, and community, always willing to help whenever needed, to cheer up his people, and to provide comfort. He was always caring, protective and loving to his sisters Cedar and Willow who he loved with all his heart. Sage was a multi-sport athlete who enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, and fastball. He enjoyed being around teammates, friends, and family who surrounded him. Sage completed and graduated with his grade twelve diploma in 2025, which made his parents proud of him. He also studied hard and passed his driver’s licence test, another proud moment for his parents and sisters. He cherished and loved his other families: the Leask family, Taylor-Pashe family, Morton family, McDaniel family, and Gurr family. Sage was raised with his traditional Dakota teachings and was also a Sundancer at a young age. Sage made his family proud of all the goals he accomplished in his short life and the love he brought to us.
