Obituary of Brian Cullen

Brian William Cullen passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026 at the age of 79. He was born in Brandon on April 21, 1947 to parents William and Stella Cullen. He lived in the east end of Brandon and attended King George, Earl Haig and Brandon Collegiate schools. He married Janice (Jan) Bird on April 20, 1968 and celebrated 48 years of marriage before Jan’s passing in September 2016. Brian lived the majority of his life in Brandon except for a few years the family lived in Fort Frances, Ontario. Brian was a heavy duty mechanic and worked for several companies including Cumming & Dobbie and C&C Construction. He had a lifelong interest in all vehicles and was always working on a project. He was a member of several car clubs and loved seeing all the cars and trucks. Brian was a very social person and loved going out for lunch to share stories with everyone he met. Due to his large circle of friends and contacts he was the one everyone contacted for help and he rarely failed us. Unfortunately due to his failing health he went to live at Rideau Park Personal Care Home in April, 2025 where of course there were more stories to tell and new people to meet. 
Brian was predeceased by his wife, Jan and sister, Maureen. 
He is survived by his daughter, Terry and family, son, Randy and family, daughter Trish and family, sister, Heather (David), brother-in-law, Rick, brother-in-law, Greg and numerous relatives and friends.
A private family funeral will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined but if you wish you can make a donation to the charity of your choice in Brian’s name.
