For the past seventeen years, we have been involved in staging a historical tour of the Brandon Cemetery. Many people do not fully realize the number of famous (and infamous) people buried there. It is our intention to educate the participants through entertainment to raise money for a local charity. Local actors from Assiniboine Theatre Company portray the roles of these remarkable “residents” of the cemetery, and share personal biographical details with participants.

This "lively" two hour interactive walking tour provides an opportunity for visitors to take a step back in time and to "meet" the colourful and inspiring individuals who have helped in shaping the Brandon we know today. The characters of Brandon's past will literally come alive to tell their tales and offer some juicy bits of gossip to those plucky participants who venture through their hallowed resting grounds.

Lisa Hammond was proud to present The Women's Resource Centre with a cheque for $2,540.00, which were the proceeds from our recent 2024 Gossip in the Graveyard tours. Accepting the donation are Julia, Director of Operations & Development, Shelley, Chair of Board, and Kim, Director of Counselling & Advocacy. 127 guests were entertained by the cast of the Assiniboine Theatre Company, who portrayed influential characters of Brandon’s past. Since its inception in 2007, this Brockie Donovan community event has raised over $36,000 for various local charities. We are so happy to help build a better community and help those in need.

We look forward to hosting this Community Event once again in September 2025.

Dates will be announced in the spring of 2025.
