We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge my Uncle Ivan. My name is Brian Baker and Ivan was my mother's brother and always my idol as a young child. I have great memories of Uncle Ivan living in Manitoba as a child and also when we all migrated out here to BC. When Uncle Ivan moved back to Manitoba we missed him dearly but once he married Marjorie, they would travel back to our neck of the woods once a year and we always looked forward to their visits. They loved their travels together and would manage to get away in the cold months into the warmth, something that my wife and myself are starting to mirror after them. My mom always told me how much I was like my Uncle Ivan and would actually call me Ivan by name more than she would call me Brian! We are very sad that we will not be able to attend Uncle Ivan's service but we feel comforted that all who loved and supported him there will be present. Thank you to all his friends, family, and his Salvation Army family, for always being there for him!
