Obituary of Maurice Lepine

LEPINE: Maurice Lepine of Brandon passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the age of 58 years. Maurice was predeceased by his biological mother, Irene Belhumeur, his adoptive parents, Robert and Mary Lepine, his brothers, Ronald and Claude Belhumeur and his sister, Janet Lepine. Maurice leaves to cherish his memory his niece Mary Lepine, her children Conrad (Brenna) Lepine, Savanah, Dylan, Tanisha Lepine, all from Brandon, MB. His brothers Jerome, Clarence, Wilfred and Joseph Belhumeur, sisters Valerie (Joe) Fiddler, Dorothy (Rob) Belhumeur, all from Portage la Prairie, MB. Also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Maurice lived all his life with his sister Janet and her daughter Mary. After Janet passed away, Maurice stayed with Mary and her children. When Maurice was younger, he enjoyed cutting post with his dad Robert, and berry picking. He also loved working in the garden with his mother Irene. Maurice loved cooking and making bannock. He could make something out of nothing…everything he cooked was delicious. He enjoyed a night out playing Bingo, or just a quiet night in watching C.S.I. and eating a cheeseburger hero or a Romana's Special, with his nieces and nephews. Maurice was always happy and a very independent man. Despite being in a wheelchair, Maurice was always willing to help others in need. If you needed a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to talk to, he was there. He will be missed very much, but never forgotten. The Funeral Service to honor Maurice's life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held in the St. Lazare Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maurice may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, "Cancer Services," 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
