RUDY: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Celia Rudy. Mom passed away on September 17, 2013 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon. Celia was born to Victor and Amalia Leschynski in Pine River, Manitoba on May 27, 1918. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Paul, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her four children Holly Nahachewsky (Larry,) Dave Rudy (Carole,) Connie Barber (Del,) and Debbie Kooting (Jack.) Eight grandchildren Donald Nahachewsky (Tarin,) Tim Nahachewsky (Lynn,) Paul Rudy (Susan,) Aaron Rudy (Shandra,) Kevin Barber (Marni,) Dean Barber (Shelly,) Kim Bennett (Dave) and Sara Kooting (Doug Girard.) Surviving mom are also 14 great-grandchildren. Mom started her married life when she was 19. Mom and dad farmed, ran a General Store and a Post Office in the Pine River area. After living in Dauphin and Rivers they settled in Brandon. Mom lived on 1st Street until 2005. At this time she moved to Rapid City to live with Jack and Debbie. They all moved to Forrest when Debbie and Jack sold the farm. Mom worked at the General Hospital as a nurse's aide, after she finished her training she worked as an Inhalation Therapist. She went on to work at the hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed travelling, going to Europe, Hawaii, The Bahamas and other various parts of Canada and the USA. She spent most of her time gardening and spending time at the cottage at Oak Lake. She loved to knit, crochet, play bingo/cards, cook and was an avid reader. She was a quiet, shy and caring person who loved all aspects of life. News of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She will be remembered by all who knew her as caring, loving, thoughtful, gentle, selfless, generous and kind.
