I have fond memories of June as director of our band program in Souris. It was through her encouragement that I attended Brandon College School of music in 1967-68. I always admired her greatly and appreciated her friendship.
My condolences to you, Lawrence and Laura.
Sincerely, Barbara Macht (nee MacKay)

I fondly remember the french horn lessons that I received from Mrs. Jones in the late 1970's. I still have my Alexander that she recommended my parents buy for me and I think of her every time I hear a recording of Dennis Brain.

Lawrence. The last time I saw you and June was when Marjorie and I visited your house just before we both were going to ventures with CUSO in the summer of 1966. I was struck with her amazing eyes and personality. I am sure she will make music in heaven. My condolences go to you and your daughter, Laura.

In the summer of 1962 Lawrence phoned from Minneapolis to say he was bringing a friend home to Winnipeg to visit the family. Our curiosity was peaked as no girlfriend had ever been mentioned before. We were both curious and nervous, wishing to make the visit a success. This was our introduction to June --"the gal from Mars". She charmed us all with her personality, her ability to tell stories, and, of course, those lovely eyes she had.
By Canadian Thanksgiving (Oct. 6) of that same year June and Lawrence were married. June has been part of our family for fifty-one years, and a wonderful partner for my brother Lawrence.
Love from Marjorie and Arthur Henery

A remarkable woman, a dear, dear friend who was part of our family. I have always believed that the music in heaven is horns. Dennis Brain, Alan Civil, Forrest Stanley and Fred Ehnes have now been joined by "Toots".
We will miss you so much, June.

Lawrence. Marjorie told me about June's passing. I'm glad I had a chance to meet her when Gord and I went through Brandon with John Archibald. She has not had an easy life and you have been suffering too. Please know of my empathy. Losing a mate surely hurts. Your move a couple of summers ago must have helped both of you. Thanks for good memories. Bill
