Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Klywak

KLYWAK: Elizabeth Anne Klywak (née Morison,) beloved wife of Pete, and mother to James (Karen,) passed away peacefully at the Portage General Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Elizabeth was born on October 13, 1928, she was one of six girls. She married Pete Klywak on February 16, 1950 in Rivers, MB. They resided in Bradwardine, Winnipeg and Brandon, until moving to Portage two and a half years ago to be closer to their son, Jim and family. While living in Brandon, they were very involved at Seniors for Seniors. Elizabeth was always one to volunteer at the Hospital Auxiliary in Rivers, and she coordinated the gift shop at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. She attended Central United Church, Brandon. She always loved a good prank or joke. She enjoyed watching the Winnipeg Jets and curling on TV, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo, in her building they had weekly bingo, which she won three times on Tuesday night. She was all about her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband, Pete, son, James (Karen,) three grandchildren Vanessa Schurko, Mathew Klywak (LaDon,) Treina Topfer (Gaston,) eight great grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Gavyn, Erika, Kerwin, Christopher, Johan and Rinse, her sisters Helen Stanley and Lillian (Billie) Chernos, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Marg Tyreman, Mae Smith and Jean Lee. Funeral service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7 or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
