We was good online friends. He was always kind, always caring, always there for me. His death was a shock, an very hurtful for me. There are times i forget, an go to message him, then i remember he's not there to respond. Some people just have it, they are extra special, Mel was/is one of those people. I am forever grateful for his kindness, our friendship. I will always miss, an love you my good friend. The last thing you said to me was, Big hugs hun, remember the good times an smile, Big hugs friend, i try, i do, just wish you were still here. Today makes a year. I love you sweet friend, I'll never forget you. Thank you for teaching me what true kindness an friendship really is. Female age 34.

Oh Deb, and family, I am sooo sorry to hear the loss of Mel. I am in shock. Mel was a great man with such humour. I will miss our little talks every three months when he came for his haircuts. He was more than just a client, he was a friend!
Take care of one another and cherish all the memories you had of him,... he is... and always will be around yous in spirit!

Oh Deb, and family, I am sooo sorry to hear of the loss of Mel. I am in shock! He was a great man, I always looked forward to seeing him every three months for a haircut. Mel was one of my first friends on Meetme, I live in Argentina, he helped me to improve my English, he was very kind, an polite with me. We had the pleasure of knowing Mel since 1988 when he came on board with TDI. He has popped in and out of our life since then. Memories of him are always there......from the pee bucket in the corner of the garage which I hear is now outside, to the homemade double distilled hooch that Mel was so proud of, to those floppy tongue running shoes, that hoarse laugh and, of course, his smile. He was always there no matter what and was just a call away. His presence will be missed by all; especially his family. Our heart breaks for you and our thoughts are with you Debbie, Shawn and Shannon & families.

I went to grade school with Melvin, and remember the very first day he arrived in Rorketon School. It was Grade 2 and he sat beside me as we worked on on plasticene animals, and for some reason the two of us laughed and laughed and laughed over something! Melvin was fun-loving fellow who brightened our school days and was a friend to all. Condolences to the family; he is gone much too soon.

I was saddened to hear the news about Mel, but have reflected on the time I spent with Mel over the last 10 years and have nothing but great memories. Whether it be learning the ins and outs of TDI or sharing a drink and laugh after work, Mel was always a joy to be around and will be missed. Debbie, Shawn, Shannon...our deepest sympathy goes out to you all during this most difficult time. I don't think there are any words in the dictionary that could describe Melvin (aka Uncle Mel)...they definately broke the mould when he came into this world. Treasure the memories, laughter and tears as they are what make us all human. Although we are not able to attend the service know that Terri and I will be thinking of you all and what Mel meant to us from all his years as a family friend, hiring me at TDI and then many years of working with me at TDI; and my stepsons Jordan and Keaton when they started out with the company. Terri use to always say who is this Mel guy as she heard so much about him over the years and he would always promise he was coming to something and then not show up, hence the nickname she gave him of Snuffleupagus! A true friend and mentor, always in our hearts now and forever.
