Obituary of Florence Spence

It's with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Florence Victoria Spence, on January 11, 2014, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, she was 75 years old. Florence was born on September 29, 1938 in Ochre River, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her parents Flora and Arthur, husband Samuel, daughter Stella, and sisters Jane, Ann and Beatrice. She is survived by her siblings Glen (Jeanette), Bella (Fredrick), Gail, Gary, Jack, Robert, Leonard, Dora, Rita, Perry, Jason and Lloyd. She is also survived by her children Wayne (Renetta), Andrew (Hazel), Alfred (Mildred), Dolly (Wayne), Chester (Karen), Pauline (Hans), Arthur, Sammy (Diane), Laura (Glen), and Vanessa (Murray). We would like to give special recognition to her grandchildren Justin and Samantha to whom she raised and also to her God-children Elmer McKenzie, Emile McKenzie, Clarence Asham and Arnold Asham. Florence had a large family which included 43 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The wake service will occur on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Crane River Roman Catholic Church in Crane River, Manitoba. The funeral service will be the following day on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. A lunch will follow the service at the Crane River Community Hall. Cremation will take place, and she will be buried at the Crane River Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
