Obituary of Shirley Anne Hayden

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley-Anne Hayden announces her passing in the early morning of Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 64. Shirley-Anne was born in Birtle, Manitoba, the daughter of the late Riel and Margaret Fleury. In Shirley-Anne's early years, her father's job at CN moved them to many places in rural Manitoba where Shirley-Anne met many friends. She had a huge heart when it came to friends and family. Many have stories of leaving Shirley-Anne's place with a gift of some sort. It was in 1992 when Shirley-Anne was married to the late Andrew Hayden who always remained the love of her life. About 24 years ago, Shirley-Anne and her husband Andrew moved to Brandon to be closer to her mother, Margaret, and it was there that she began her long and rewarding career in the healthcare profession with Brandon Regional Health Authority. At Rideau Park Personal Care Home, Shirley-Anne worked extremely hard and the staff and residents at this home became some of the most important people in her life. Shirley-Anne's heart also extended to her many animals, which she adopted from the Humane Society. She was a huge supporter of the Humane Society and loved each of her animals dearly. Shirley-Anne leaves behind a godson Dwayne Mackey and his wife Anjelisa. She also leaves behind sisters, Donna Fleury and Lynda Fleury. She is also survived by godsons, Gary Fleury and Conrad Fleury, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Prayers were held for Shirley-Anne at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on March 14, 2014 and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on March 15, 2014. She was laid to rest beside her mother, Margaret and her beloved husband, Andrew, at Brandon Municipal Cemetery. Donations in memory of Shirley-Anne may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6
