SHAW: Clara Kate Shaw (née Hawkins.) Born in Brandon, Clara was the third child born to Jack and Kate Hawkins (née Playford). She spent her early years in Nesbitt, married Robert Shaw and moved back to Brandon. She worked for many years at Brandon General Hospital with the housekeeping department. She was a wonderful pianist, and was very involved with St. Mary's Church A.C.W., who continued to love and support her throughout her life. Clara was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bob and four brothers Tom, Herbert, Ken, Sam and her sister Dorothy. She is survived by her sister Helen Friesen of Burnaby, B.C., several nieces and nephews, loving friends Loretta and Wayne Hamilton and family, and dear friends of St. Mary's Anglican Church. Clara was a very special person who loved to attend the musical entertainment provided by Fairview Home and appreciated every visit, card, bouquet and gift she received. Well known for her big, warm hugs, she will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. She never missed an opportunity to express her appreciation and left each visitor knowing how grateful she was that they took the time to stop by.
