Obituary of Frank Raymond Wanchuk

WANCHUK: Following a lengthy illness, at the age of 84, Frank passed away peacefully in God's loving arms May 10, 2014 at the Rideau Park Personal Care Home. Frank was predeceased by his mother Ann and father Raymond. He will be missed by cousin Joan Halaiko and her children, Kris, Brenda (Bob) Franz, Perry (Rene) and their children Taylor and Paige. Also, his very good friends Brian and Faye Cottam and their family in Calgary, as well as Trudy Chudley and family. He was born in Portage la Prairie on September 17, 1929. He started his working days as a taxi cab dispatcher. He then moved to Brandon and went into business there as a bookkeeper. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling with friend Brian Cottam. He faced many hardships in life with great courage. His motto was "One day at a time." His great sense of humor helped him through his health problems. Thanks to Rideau Park Staff and Dr. M. Egan for the wonderful care and friendship of Frank. A memorial service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Tkachuk officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 9 Princess Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 1R8 or to a charity of your choice.
