Patti, I have so many memories of you and Wendy on 22nd street. Wendy and you would knock on the door asking if Nina could come out to play. We would play school at your house all summer long. Don, Patti and members of the Lacey family, As a nursing classmate, a 300 staff colleague, and friend, I can truly say that Wendy was one of the most genuine, meticulously-organized, and creative people I have had the pleasure to know. Our "golf and rafting days" at her family cabin in Minnedosa are remembered by all as the best Ladies' retreats EVER and our class of 75 reunions were kept on track because of Wendy's detailed hand-written communiques. When Wendy left 300, I told her it would take at least 3 people to replace her because she had developed the most quietly efficient way of getting things done, even when it looked impossible. In reality, Wendy could not be replaced. because she was truly one of a kind. It is incomprehensible to realize she is gone. We will all miss her and can only imagine the loss you feel. In the days ahead I will imagine her working tirelessly in a beautiful perennial garden somewhere that has been created and manicured in a way that only Wendy could. Wendy was always a special friend in our early years at Linden Lanes. We played baseball, net ball and went to the "Y" together. She will be sadly missed as a wonderful friend to many. Dear Don and the Lacey family:
We are saddened to hear of your sudden loss. May you find strength and peace in the days ahead. In 1984 I was a new Grad Nurse, and Wendy enriched my life as I began my career. Wendy was a role model for us all on 300 West (BRHC Surgery unit). I have fond memories of Wendy! We spent time, together, attending fitness class @ the YMCA on our days off and Wendy hosted the best summer beach parties with co-workers at the family cottage at Minnedosa Lake. I also admired her creative gardening talents.
