Not sure if anyone in the family is still reading this or not but I visited Clair and Millie around 2000 on what originally had been my grandparents original homestead (section 33) (Wilkinson). I just dropped in one day to see what was still there from when my grandparents left in 1939. Claire and Millie graciously invited me (a complete stranger) in and showed me around. I believe the only original building left built by my grandfather was an old stable, they also invited me to stay for dinner, so gracious. I always meant to go back at some point but never did which I deeply regret. I had forgotten where the homestead was until just in the past few days and found it by contacting the Erickson town clerk. Then a search found this Obituary. So sorry for your loss. Any chance your family still owns this property? I would love to revisit it this summer with my brother if it was possible, Our mother who was born there just passed away recently and this has rekindled our interest,
If someone reads this could you please get me in touch with the family?

Dear Mille, Doug, Paul, Dan, Chris and their families. Del and I were sorry to hear of Claire's passing all of you will miss him very much. He was such a kind and gentle man to all who knew him but he remained a "car salesman" even when it was apparent that he didn't need to sell any more cars. I recall a day when Bob, Paul, Glen, and I had finished one of our titanic matches and were sitting on Paul's deck, Claire drove up "but couldn't stay" as he was on his way to make a sale in Dauphin. We all had a good laugh at this.
Much affection to the entire Murray family.

I am posting this song as a tribute to you;
Fading away like the stars of the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun—
Thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling,
Only remembered by what we have done.
Refrain
Only remembered, only remembered,
Only remembered by what we have done;
Thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling,
Only remembered by what we have done.
2. Shall we be missed though by others succeeded,
Reaping the fields we in springtime have sown?
No, for the sowers may pass from their labors,
Only remembered by what they have done. [Refrain]
3. Only the truth that in life we have spoken,
Only the seed that on earth we have sown;
These shall pass onward when we are forgotten,
Fruits of the harvest and what we have done.
"Clair" I met and know you only for a few days. You are such a wonderful person. You don't complain, no you never do. You lived a good life that affected everyone around you positively. You loved your wife and family. I am sure everyone, including me have a special place in their heart for you. We sure missed you. You've been larger than life.

Dear Millie and family,
It has been a privilege to get to "know" you and your wonderful family through genealogical pursuits and especially through the trip to Scotland in April.
Being one of the descendants of James Cumming and Rebecca Parr, you are part of a pioneering family that have played such a large part in settling the Brandon area. James and Rebecca homesteaded on E½ 29-11-19 in 1881, and raised 12 children as seen on Page 258 of the Elton history book. This family led to over 700 descendants, many of whom presently live in Western Canada.
While you contemplate the life of Clair, you have every reason to be proud of your contribution to the history and development of Western Canada. God Bless!
