Obituary of Bruce Newell Hutchison

HUTCHISON: Bruce Newell Hutchison of Brandon, beloved husband of Della and dear father of Sherry Hutchison (Brian Knight) and Kelly (Jane) Hutchison, passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 62 years. Bruce was born on September 9, 1952 at Ochre River, Manitoba. At the age of eight years old, he moved to Brandon with his family. This is where he met his soulmate, Della. Bruce worked at Western Concrete, where he had a successful career for over 42 years. He enjoyed making gadgets out of anything and tinkering with his truck in his spare time. Bruce's main passion in life was his love for his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his work. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Della, daughter Sherry Hutchison (Brian Knight), son Kelly (Jane) Hutchison, grandchildren Jessica Young (Matthew Blair), Stephanie Young (Ian Barclay), Jayden, Brandon, Ethan Hutchison, great-grandchild Brooklyn Blair, sister Doreen King, his two brothers Gordon (Lorrie) Hutchison and James Hutchison, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Fred and Amy Hutchison. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant, Kim Lewarne officiating. Fred Kennell, Jessica and Stephanie Young, Jayden, Brandon and Ethan Hutchison will act as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The family invites you to share your memories of Bruce at the Double Decker Tavern, 943 Rosser Avenue, following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bruce may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
