Obituary of Eileen Quinn

QUINN: It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Clara 'Eileen' Quinn (Pangman) on April 20, 2015 at her Fairview home in Brandon. Mom was born in Hamiota and grew up on the family farm outside of Hamiota. She attended school in McConnell . She was a stay-at-home Mom until her children were established in school. She then went to work at Brandon Mental Health Centre in the dietary department where she continued until her retirement. She enjoyed her job and spoke with affection of her co-workers. Her greatest joy was her family. We always knew we were her priority no matter what else was going on in her life. No matter what event we participated in she was our greatest cheerleader and biggest fan. Some of these events lasted all day and she endured without a single complaint no matter the weather, road conditions or length of the day. She always spoke with much pride when asked about us and we in turn were truly devoted to her. Mom loved watching sports. She had played some basketball in school, commenting that she was always smaller than her rivals and was able to slip through their legs when passed the ball. As the years progressed she especially enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball, soccer, hockey and curl. Mom also enjoyed following the Brandon Wheat Kings on the radio. She enjoyed music and dancing, often remembering the dances she attended while growing up. She spoke of attending a few by horse and wagon. Over the years she added bingo to her list of things she enjoyed as well as trips to casinos and vacations with family. Mom considered Fairview her home for the past 7 1/2 years. She enjoyed the music, bingo and bus outings. She leaves to live in her memory her children Lana (Bernard), Lorrie (Randy), Lorna (Kyle), Linda (Jim), Larry and Lisa, and Grandchildren Jason, Jamie (Natasha), Janessa (Rick), Jenna (Devin) , Sarah, Serena, Catlin (Nicole) , Crystal (Byron), Shandoll (Brian), Shawn (Shianne), Neal and Nathan (Kelly), Great-Grandchildren Taylor, Rhayen, Brixen, Tytan, Jaxon, Easton, Brendan, Brolin, Destin, Bailey, Brody, Hannah, Luke, Chloe, Kianna, Mersadies, Madisyn, Memphis, and Rhylen. She is also survived by many foster grandchildren, her sister-in-law Mavis Pangman as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Murray Pangman as well as many other relatives and friends. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium.
