Obituary of Yvonne (Milne) Williams

WILLIAMS: Yvonne Ellen (Milne) Williams. Daughters Joyce Milne and Joan Moggach sadly announce the passing of their mother, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on August 1, 2015 at the Assiniboine Centre. Yvonne was born February 20, 1927 in Griswold, the youngest of 10 children born to John and Eva McMillan. She took her schooling in Griswold completing her grade 12 in Brandon. She then went to work at the Bank of Montreal in Brandon. In 1952, she married Roy Milne, the U.G.G. elevator agent in Griswold. They resided in Griswold until Roy's sudden passing in October 1979. She then decided it was time to move to Brandon and had resided there since. In 1994, Yvonne married Bernard Williams. They had 11 years together until Bernard's passing in 2007. She moved to Victoria Landing in 2005 and enjoyed her time there very much. Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, four sisters, five brothers, her first husband Roy Milne and second husband Bernard Williams. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (George), grandson Danny (Mandi) and their children Christopher, Trevor, and Haily; granddaughter Michelle (Tracy) and their children Nicholas and Mackenzie; daughter Joan (Ian), granddaughter Loree (Jeff) and their children Kolby and Marshall; granddaughter Lacey (Peter) and their children Ava and Lex; granddaughter Lindsey (Wynn) and their children Bailee, Acelyn and Chaston. Yvonne is also survived by her special "sister niece" Doreen Carstairs, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the Griswold United Church on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren and Rev. Don Sellsted officiating. Interment followed at Griswold Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandson Danny Faucher, nephew Dave McMillan, grandsons-in-law Jeff McKay, Peter Bolund, Wynn Catchaway and Tracy Campbell. Nephew Dale McMillan gave a special family memoir.
