Obituary of Ronald Melvin Hamilton

HAMILTON: Ronald Melvin Hamilton passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Ron was born October 21, 1936 on the family farm near Manitou, Manitoba. When Ron left school he worked his way to Edmonton, Alberta where he married the love of his life, Marilyn Tew. They moved back to Brandon and Ron started working for the city Parks Department. Ron learned a lot about the local horticulture and worked hard at a job he was good at, retiring in 1991 as Maintenance Supervisor. Ron loved his family and kept them entertained over the years with many camping trips. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and caring for his yard. During the NHL season, you could always find Ron watching the Maple Leafs and vocally trying to encourage a win from his favourite team. Left to mourn are daughter Irene (Terry Isleifson), son Dean (Cheryl), sisters, Laura, Dorren, and Mable (Jim Anderson), and many nieces and nephews. In- laws, Pat and Russ Orr and Bob and Carma Tew. Also in mourning are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Celebration of Ron's Life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant, Kim Lewarne, officiating. A private family interment took place at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to a charity of choice.
