Obituary of James "Jim" Frank

FRANK: William Leonard James (Jim) Frank passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the age of 68 years. The youngest of four children, Jim was born to Mary and Bill Frank on January 16, 1947 in Rivers, MB. He attended Robinville School and Rivers Collegiate. Jim farmed his whole life on the family farm in the RM of Riverdale (Formerly Daly) - it was his passion. He met his wife Sandra in high school and they were married July 25, 1970. They had three children over the following 17 years. Jim was a lifelong farmer and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He partially retired to spend more time with his grandchildren, but had no plans to fully retire. He was a member at St. James Anglican Church and he took great pleasure in farming, photography, gardening, baking, wine making, reading and fishing. He was very proud to receive the Rotary Club of Brandon/Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship award. Jim is survived by his wife Sandra, daughters Jennifer Sanders (Michael), Sarah Belcher (Chris), son James, grandchildren Matthew and Ruslan Sanders, Riya and Johnathan Belcher, sisters Elizabeth Schafer, Muriel Wyman and Kathleen Roberts (George). He was predeceased by mother Mary Frank, father William Harry (Bill) Frank, Uncle Geoff Frank, brothers-in-law Elmer Schafer and Wilson Wyman. A Memorial Service was held on December 30, 2015 at the St. James Anglican Church, Rivers, MB, with Rev. Sally Carter officiating. Donations in memory of Jim may be may be made to a charity of one's choice.
