Obituary of Henry Bullee

BULLEE: Henry Bullee was born on November 28, 1927 in Brandon, MB, to Jacob and Gertrude Bullee, seven years after their immigration to Canada from Beesd, Holland. Henry was the fifth child of nine: Robert (Irene), Jake (Gladys), Margaret (Fred), Bill (Phyllis), Gertrude (Doug), Harvey (Fay), Jack (Lee Ann), David (Dorothy) and adopted sister Peggy (Nick). Henry is survived by his girls, grandchildren, great grandchild as well as his brother's Harvey, Jack and David and families. In 1956 Henry married Deanna Hammond, who passed away in 1995, and they had two daughters: Mickie (Danny) and Gayle. Henry's daughters gave him four grandchildren: Doreena, Katrina, Chad and Cassandra; and Katrina gave Henry a great grandson, Maddie. Henry was employed in early life at a local dairy farm, in the oil field in Virden and for a time in Ontario, in the forest industry. For most of his life, he was employed at Fowlers, where he felt like a part of the family. His interests were fishing and working on wood projects. There are some beautiful wood chairs still around that he made. He also loved nature and 'Hank's Hide Away' at Clear Lake. Henry was the kind of man that no matter what you called him; Dad, Grandpa, Pappa, brother, uncle or friend, he touched us all and loved and appreciated you and we will all miss and remember what he brought to our lives. We would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Riverdale Personal Care Home, for taking such good care of Dad. Henry's favourite song says it all- 'A man is often measured by what he does in life, it made mine worth living when I realized I don't have to change the world, I don't have to walk on water, all I have to do is be my daughters father'. A Memorial Service was held for Henry on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Brockie Donovan Chapel with Kim Lewarne officiating. Donations in memory of Henry may be made to a charity of choice.
