Obituary of Iris Watt

WATT: Iris Watt (née Lambert) April 7, 1926 – April 15, 2016 It is with sadness that the family of Iris Watt of Brandon announce that she has passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 90. Iris was born on April 7, 1926 in Oxford, England, and immigrated to Canada and Brandon in 1948. She met her husband Charles Watt that year and they were married on January 14, 1950. She was a dedicated mother to their three daughters, Janet, Gail and Beverly, a devoted wife and loving grandmother. She prided herself in her home and family. Iris enjoyed her flowers and plants in the garden and the different birds the flowers brought into the yard. Iris enjoyed being a homemaker and mother and when the girls were older she became active in 10 Pin bowling with the Lucky 7 Ladies, and joined the 9 Hole Ladies Golf League at the Brandon Golf and Country Club. She also enjoyed golf with her husband and friends in Brandon and in Palm Springs in the winter. Iris enjoyed working alongside Charlie at Watt's Men's Wear prior to their retiring in 1986. She was predeceased at an early age by her father and her mother, Selina Lambert, her three brothers and three sisters. Iris is survived by her loving husband, Charles, children: Janet (Noel) Lagarde; David (Dana) Skinner and children: Katie and Emily; Jason (Julie) Skinner and children: Jayden and Abby; and Chris McLean; Gail (Dave) Janz, children: Ashley (Jonathon), Amanda (Justin), and Mark Charles (Chantelle); Beverly (Bruce) Born. As well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, England and Australia. As per Iris's wishes, under the guidance of Brockie Donovan, a private family remembrance and cremation will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined, and if friends wish they may make a contribution to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 'Identified Needs', 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3 or a Charity of choice.
