Obituary of Norman Roziere

ROZIERE: Norman Roziere (Rozie) passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the age of 66 years. "Rozie" was born June 8, 1950, the eldest son of twelve children in Notre Dame De Lourdes, Manitoba to Adolphe and Henriette Roziere. At a young age his family moved to Oak Lake, where he discovered his love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and years later, his bride. He graduated from Virden Collegiate, and shortly after moved to Brandon. On March 11, 1972 he married Norma Louise Topp, and together they raised four boys. In April of 1979, Rozie began a 35 year career as a Firefighter with the City of Brandon. Lieutenant Roziere loved his career, his brother and sister Firefighters, and helping people in their time of need. He also loved to be the center of, or the instigator of good practical jokes, on and off shift. Rozie loved filling his time with family and the outdoors, hunting and fishing. With great pride he has passed these loves along to his children and grandchildren. The entire family is grateful for one last fishing trip with Grandpa/Dad on July 1. Rozie is survived by his loving wife and best friend Norma; his sons Jeff (Kim) Jesse, Josh, Chloe, Nik and Zak; Rick (Tanya) Jack, Eric and Ryan; Kevin (June) Megan, Madison and Zack; Greg (Sheri) Selena, Serena, Rain, Jet and River, Daughter-in-law Marcy (Troy). His sisters: Renee, Polly (Willie); Peggy (Ken); Giselle (Steve), and brothers David, Rob (Giselle), Roger (Tammie), Tony (Marlise), Mike (Janid); Brother-in-law Bob (Sandy); father-in-law Bob Topp, and many nieces and nephews. Rozie is predeceased by his parents Henriette and Adolphe Roziere; sisters Maria and Diane; brother-in-law Bob; mother-in-law Alice; infant grandson Luke; and great fishing partner Mike Szczepanski. A Memorial Service will be held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norman may be made to the Brandon Area Community Foundation, Norman Roziere Scholarship Fund for Manitoba Emergency Services Paramedic Program, DPO Box 22096, Brandon, MB, R7A 6Y9, (204) 571- 0529 or made online at www.bacf.ca. A Good Man Husband and father, loving and true He was always there for us. Secure and protected under his care A child couldn't ask for more. Teaching by example the values in life; Self reliance, honesty and right. Cheerfully whistling, lending a hand Filling our home with laughter and song. Strong yet gentle, strict but fair A foundation to grow up on. To us, larger than life… he could do no wrong So proud we were that he was ours. Now, no longer seen through childhoods eyes He's still all these things to us. Our Hero… Our Dad.
