Obituary of John (Jack) Hutton

HUTTON: John (Jack) Alexander Hutton of Brandon passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the age of 94 years. Jack attended the RM of Cornwallis School until the completion of his education. He spent the majority of his life farming in the RM of Cornwallis and was a member of the Roseland District. Jack was proud to be a member of the Masons for over 60 years. He was also a member of the Central Community Centre and Central Happy Haven. He enjoyed clog and square dancing, as well as social dancing; card games and travelling to Scotland and England. After retiring at the age of 60, Jack moved into Brandon, wintering for 10 years in Texas. Jack was predeceased by his mother and father, Annie and John; brother Robert; nephew Murray; first wife Edith and her daughter, Gwen. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley and her children: Mike Stewart; Dave (Val) Stewart; Nadine (Brian) Ogilvie; Carol (Grant Kolodie) Stewart; Susan (Darrell) Masson; Edith's children: Tina and Ruth; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with a time of Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.; interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Jim Brown; Bob Brown; Don Hamilton; Darrell Masson; Brian Ogilvie and Bob Campbell. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to Dinsdale Personal Care Home, 510- 6th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 3N9 or to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6.
