Obituary of Shirley Marion Fleury

FLEURY: Shirley Marion (Mahpiya Icikoyaka Win) passed away Thursday morning, September 1st, 2016 with family at her side, at the Brandon General Hospital in Brandon, Manitoba. Shirley was born to Rachel and Eric McKay on September 7, 1944. She attended residential school. Shirley later went to Assiniboine Community College and completed her correctional service training, where she graduated with her eldest, Delmar McKay. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, beading and travelling. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Rachel and Eric; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her brothers: Aaron; Marshall; Franklin and Kenneth; sisters: Lena and Heather; sons: Delmar; Garth; Bernard and Rob; daughters: Debra; Denise; Corrine and Brittany; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to Brandon General Hospital Acute Care; doctors, nurses and healthcare aides for their care and support. The family will be feeding Shirley's spirit on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Brandon Friendship Centre, 205 College Avenue. A service to Celebrate Shirley's Life will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.,at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332- 8th Street, with Percy Tacan officiating.
