Obituary of Philip Daniel Wurtz

WURTZ: Philip was born January 25, 1989 in Deerboine Colony to Sam and Lisa Wurtz. He was the first born of five children: Philip, Leane, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Andre. Philip's passion for hunting and fishing started at a young age, growing up next the winding Assiniboine River and the rolling Deerboine hills. While still living at Deerboine, Philip met his best friend, Jerilyn Kleinsasser. In 2008, Philip's love of adventure and freedom motivated him to leave the Hutterite lifestyle. His first job was a construction labourer for his uncle and aunt at Excel, working alongside his cousin, Corey and the rest of the Excel crew for 8 years. On March 16, 2013 Philip married the love of his life, Jerilyn, in Jamaica. On July 21, 2015 they welcomed to the world their beautiful son, Karter Samuel. Philip was raised in a loving, close-knit, affectionate family and he carried on that legacy in his relationship with Jerilyn and Karter. Philip found so much joy in being a dad to Karter. He often commented to his friends, "You will never truly know happiness until you become a dad." Philip was passionate about living life without regrets. He loved to be around friends and got along with everyone. Letting go of anger and bitterness was an essential part of who Philip was. He often encouraged those around him to "just let things go and forgive." His easy-going nature and sense of humour will leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
