Uncle Peter! I will miss you. One of my favourite memories is when you and the family would come to visit us on our farm during the summer. I was only a child then. I was always so excited to see you because you always talked to me like a person, never talked down to me like a child. The last couple of years we have grown closer and I am so very grateful for that. Even on your most difficult days you would always be there for a phone chat when I needed it. You gave me so much support when you actually needed it most. It warmed my heart when you would always end our calls with "I love you." A phrase that we could all learn to use more often than we do. I will do my best to honour you by using it more. " I love you"

I didn't know Peter but I do know he left behind a beautiful and caring daughter, Rina, who loved him to the moon and back. Thinking of you Rina and Chris and your family.

The first memory I have of Peter is when Isabel and I first got together. We drove from Brandon to Richmond, BC to bring the kids to spend time with their dad. As we were sitting in the car discussing where Isabel and I would spend the night while there, Peter came and said that we should stay at his place.
He was that kind of a man, giving and accepting of all.
He became a close friend and a brother that I will miss deeply.
Until we meet again.

I would like to share a recent happy memory about Peter and myself as we were returning to Brandon from a wkend visit with family in Dauphin. Peter was feeling lucky so we stopped in at the Casino at Rolling River to play the VLT's. Within a half hour and $40 Peter had won a tidy sum of $$$ ! So Peter cashed out his winnings phoned Rena and told her not to make supper , he's buying supper tonight !!!

A memory that I will always treasure is when I was little, Dad would take me out on "dates". It could be something as simple as going for a walk and getting ice cream, playing at the park, or even going to the race track (a personal favorite). He would always let it be my choice and never rush the time we would spend together. It would make me feel special to just have that one on one time with him. And that has been something that I have carried forward with my daughters. A legacy to be shared in his memory.
