Obituary of Dianne 'Dodie' Fedra de Delley

de Delley: Dianne Dodie de Delley. It is with great sadness the family of Dodie de Delley announce her passing on December 13th, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. We lost a loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, niece and cousin. Dodie was born on May 12th, 1962 in Brandon to Dennis and Dianne de Delley. She was raised with a younger sister, Sonya and a brother, Shawn. She grew up in Sprucewoods, MB and attended school in Shilo, MB, graduating from Princess Elizabeth High School class of 1982. After she graduated, she worked in Shilo for many years. After this, she decided to pursue an education in Business Administration where she graduated at Assiniboine Community College. As a young girl growing up, she participated in ballet, tap dancing, figure skating, band, and baseball. It was a yearly tradition to go up to the lake for the whole summer with her grandparents, Norm and the family. At Clear Lake, she spent lots of hours on the boat enjoying swimming, fishing, waterskiing, and tubing. During the winter season, she spent time at the hockey rink watching Shawn play hockey and the rest of the time snowmobiling with the whole de Delley family. On other nights, she would partake in a competitive card game with her dad, siblings, and relatives. It was a regular outing to go to Douglas and play crib with her de Delley grandparents and the rest of the family. Dodie fondly remembered all the family reunions which had taken place over the years. For many years, she loved to do crafts and to go to craft shows. She had a special fondness for Unicorns and Dolphins. Dodie and Curtis Parker shared the arrival of their daughter, Shae¬-Lynne Breanne born on November 25th, 1997. Shae was the most precious person in Dodie's life. As Shae grew, Dodie was a devoted mother attending dance, soccer, and piano with Shae. Throughout this period in her life, she met her soulmate, Cliff Lazark, and as a family they spent time going to Clear Lake, fishing, and weekend visits to the Brandon Humane Society. In the last couple of years, Dodie, Shae, Curtis and Grandma Hazel spent time as a family catching up on many years. In this time, Dodie was employed in the Deli department of Sobey's West End grocery store. She loved her position in the deli which allowed her to serve her customers who she enjoyed so much. Dodie loved working with the management and staff at the store. In June of 2016, Dodie had to take a medical leave from Sobey's as she was having trouble walking and getting around. Dodie was diagnosed with cancer on December 6th, 2016 and passed away peacefully on the 13th of December, 2016 with Shae and the family at her side. Dodie was predeceased by her parents Dennis in 2006, Dianne in 2008, brother Shawn in 2013, and Cliff (soulmate) in 2011. Dodie had comfort in knowing that her family was waiting for her in Heaven. Dodie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Shae, sister Sonya Kampe and husband Ralf, nephew Greg Murphy and Chanda Fowler, sister-in-law Kari de Delley, nieces Kristen and Laura de Delley, Uncle Norm and Trina, Curtis Parker and Hazel Parker, God parents Lavada and Mirlin Porter along with numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Auntie Pat and Uncle Jim wanted to share a special message at the funeral which I will pass on. "Dodie had a way of bringing out the best in people, by her caring and the interest that she took in all you do and say. Dodie made you comfortable right from the very start. Her smiles and love of life come from a warm and giving heart. Dodie was so special that whenever she was around - the world seemed so much better. She meant so much to us. She had that extra something that you very rarely see. It's a warmth, an honest caring that draws others close to you. That's what made her so special. We are so sorry we lost you, we love you." A celebration of Dodie's life was held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Officiating was Ryan Raffray, Eulogy by Ralf Kampe and Urn Bearer was Curtis Parker. A private family interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium. For those who wish, a donation can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
