Obituary of Florence Eleanor Phillips

PHILLIPS: Florence Phillips (Davidson). It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Florence Phillips on December 30, 2016 after just over a year-long battle with cancer. Florence was born September 25th, 1932 on the family farm in Odanah Municipality to Peter and Elizabeth Davidson. She had three sisters and one brother. She attended Glenburney School until Grade 9 and then Grade 10 at Moore Park. She met the love of her life, Donald Andrew George Phillips, and they were married May 18th, 1957. They had two children; Louis and Charlene. Florence and Don lived on the family farm from 1957 until 1995 when they moved to Brandon residing on Applewood Bay. After Don's passing in 2002, Florence stayed on the bay until 2005 when she moved to Village Green apartments where she resided until her passing. She made a lot of wonderful friends there and enjoyed taking part in the social activities that were offered there. Florence lived for her family and was always there for them and supported them in everything they did from school and sports to everyday activities. Her Grandchildren were her life and she lit up when Great Grandson, Jaxon, went to visit. Florence and Don had a love for camping. Florence also enjoyed many crafts like knitting, crocheting and painting any woodworking projects that Dad made. She also loved her weekly bowling, lawn bowling and get-togethers with family and friends. Florence is predeceased by her husband Don, her mother and father, mother-in-law and father-in-law, sisters and brother as well as numerous friends and relatives. She is survived and will be greatly missed by son Louis (Diana), Teri (Jamie), Charlene (Cliff), Gareth, Krista (Dustin) and Jaxon, her sister-in-law Shirley (Ron) Miller and numerous family members.
