Obituary of Lorraine Anne Copet

COPET: Lorraine Copet of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Lorraine was born August 29, 1932 in Grande Clairiere, Manitoba, to Henry and Jean (née Vinck) Hardy. Lorraine was a stoic and strong woman and it was this demeanour and strength that made her the consummate caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother that she was. In her later years Mom was content with a quiet, unassuming life, taking most pleasure in the pursuits and successes of her family and the antics of family pets, especially her cat, Pickles. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her brother Art Hardy and daughter Karen Clark. Left to miss her most are her children: Claudette Bullion of Brandon, Colleen Copet of Ottawa, Ontario, and Wayne (Anita) Copet of Winnipeg; grandchildren Mark (Lisa) Bullion, Jacqueline (Jeff) Leforte, Jamie Peters, and Lindsay Ruddick; and great grandchildren Rae-Lynn Peters, Riley and Kaelynn Bullion. Also left to mourn her passing are brothers: Maurice Hardy of Souris, Manitoba and Wilfred (Carol) Hardy and sisters: Liza Scharf and Evelyn (Dave) Heape of Brandon, Manitoba, as well as numerous extended relatives and family friends. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the caring staff at the Health Centre that assisted with Mom's care, especially Dr. Carine Minders who managed Mom's care over her last few weeks. Mom was unreserved in her appreciation for the genuine care and concern you demonstrated, mentioning numerous times what a wonderful doctor and lovely person you are. You made her difficult remaining days so much better – thank you! A private family service is being held. If so desired, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-2430 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7B 0M5.
