Obituary of Doreen Joyce Murray

MURRAY: Doreen Joyce Murray, June 10, 1934 - January 19, 2017. The family of Doreen Murray sadly announce her passing at her home that she loved, Dinsdale Personal Care Home. She went peacefully for which we are grateful. Mom was a hard worker all of her life. She raised me as a single mom from the time I was 11 on. She had a lot of health problems in life but she was tough and kept on going. She was the rock of our family. Her last job was at the Brandon Hospital where she worked her last 23 years of working life. She had to retire after a triple bypass. She loved working there and everyone she worked with. March 2, 2015 she moved into Dinsdale as she needed the extra help. She was always so grateful to be living there. She shone bright. We are forever grateful that she was where she loved to be. Life will not be the same but she will forever be in our hearts. Doreen is survived by her loving daughter Bonnie Dalkeith (Garth Mackie), loving grandsons Jamie and Jason Dalkeith-Mackie, and her beloved great-granddaughters Brielle and Bentley, whom each carry Mom's name. Thank you to the wonderful staff and residents at Dinsdale Personal Care Home who treated Mom with such love and affection. Also to Dr. Maier and her students who gave her excellent care and also Dr. Fourie who was her doctor before. Words cannot express the void in our lives, but we will remember Mom with love and laughter. There is no funeral as that was Mom's wishes.
