We have two lovely paintings by Len gracing our living room, one from Spruce Woods and one from Clear Lake. I was gobsmacked when we toured his studio, sooo many choices and beautiful work. We are in Alberta now but look at those paintings and remember favorite Manitoba places. He lived a good life; our condolences on his passing. Robyn Singleton and Ora Justice

Mr Sandeman holds a very dear place in my heart. Quite literally, he formed a lot of what I am and what I do today as a graphic designer.
Condolences to his friends and family; he was a wonderful man.

Mr. Sandeman was my first teacher of the Arts.
His patience, humor, wisdom and above all, friendship was so meaningful.
May the Creator embrace you, and those you leave behind.
Thank you for everything!

Our families have shared many times together over the years, Christmas carolling at our Mom and Dads, and visits with Gam and family at the farm in Wisconsin! Many happy memories and great family times. For many years, Ken and I would take the kids to the Red Oak Inn between Christmas and New Years, for a little Rand R and family fun! We would always drop in to see Auntie Carol and Uncle Len. As our families have grown and spread out across the country, get together times have been fewer and tend to be at sadder times I our lives. Ken and I would try to stop to have a little visit with your Mom and Dad when we would be passing through Brandon on our way home to Winnipeg. Your Dad would show us his latest paintings and then offer us a glass of sherry! Initially, this drink was not the favourite for my palate, however , over the years it has grown on me, and now I often have a glass of Sherry before supper, remembering who got me started on this libation (as my Dad called it)!!!!! Mom has an album of photographs that she looks at fairly often, that has many pictures of Carol and Len. I am thinking of all of you at this time. Tears will fall at unexpected times, perhaps over a cup of coffe or even in a grocery store, as you buy something that will bring back a vivid memory. Memories are great reminders of where we come from and how the past continues to mold our present and future. May the myemories bring you comfort and strength as you travel this road of grief. You understand, that I have lived through this. It will get easier but you won't forget! Love, hugs and prayers are with you all. Your cousin, Jane.

Uncle Len's paintings, and by association his presence, were a strong part of our family home. My mother, Florence, shared her admiration and respect for Len with all of us. He and Aunt(ie) Carol were definitely lights in our lives.

Len was an artist I have admired since the first time I saw his work in the early 70's. I first rented his work from the Brandon Allied Arts Centre. He was always a gentle soul and I enjoyed conversations with him at openings and other arts events. He holds a special place in the Westman community because so many appreciated his work. I treasure the work I have of his in my private collection. I send heartfelt sympathy to all in his family. He leaves a beautiful legacy.

Leslie and family
How sad I am for the loss of your beloved father. It has been my absolute honor to have liked after him while he was with us on A3. I loved our many conversations and how he encouraged me to try painting. He often said the key to a long life was to try new things and to keep your mind sharp. He will leave a lasting mark on my heart. Cherish your memories.
