Obituary of Josephine "Joey" Sophia Clark

CLARK, Josephine Sophia "Jo, "Joey," "Josey" - Called home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at CAMA Woodlands, in her 92nd year. Took her last breath, saying "I love you", in the arms of her daughter.

 

Beloved wife of the Late James "Jim" Calverley Clark for almost 62 years. Loving mother of Beverley Lynn Clark of Mississauga/Burlington. Predeceased by parents Stefane and Rosalia Mazier (nee Batycky).

 

Cherished sister of the late Helen Maksymiuk (late Dmetro) of Saskatoon, Bernice Twa (late Andrew John) of Toronto, and Jean Ann Buga (late William Benedict) of Brandon, Manitoba. Sister-in-law of Gerald "Jerry" Wesley Clark (Marie) of Ohio, and his late wife Hazel Ruth, late Forrest "Bush" Edward Clark (Grace) of St. Albert, AB.

 

She will be missed by her nieces and nephews; Elaine Maksymiuk, of Saskatoon, Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk (Jane) of Winnipeg, Jean Maksymuik (Guy) of Prince Albert, SK, late Patricia Andrea Gibeau of Quebec, Carol McWilliam (Fergus) of Berlin, Germany, and James Buga (Jackie) of Brandon, MB. David Clark of Kansas City, Sheryl (Keith) Duval of Vegreville, Bettyanne (Denis) Carrier of Cold Lake, Kevin (Victoria) of St. Albert, Alberta.

 

Josephine was a great aunt of Daniel (Minerva), Michael, Catherine (Dirk), Louise, Vanessa, Alexander (Bianca), James (Alexa), Kendra (Adam), Karla-Rae (Mathieu), Jonathan, Michael, Deanna, Chantal (Andrew), Dominic, Danielle, and a great-great aunt of Catalina, Jane, Patricia, Aria, Kamran, Cora Ray, Gabrielle-Rae, Caylee.

 

Josephine was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. She was an employee of Reesor's Jewellery store in Brandon for a number of years before moving to Calgary, Alberta where she was an employee of the Calgary School Board. She went with her husband to England and then settled in the Hamilton area in 1955. She has been a resident of Burlington, ON since 1959.

 

Joey was a graduate of Sheridan College in Executive Secretary (Word Processing Option) in 1978, and an employee of National Trust. Joey enjoyed gardening, cooking elaborate meals, baking cookies and serving family. She was a long-time member of the Y, and Port Nelson United Church Choir. She enjoyed Bible study, and singing praises to the Lord.

 

She will be dearly missed by her daughter and extended family, but she will be able to sing praises to the Lord forever.

 

A time of viewing and visitation will be held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Home, 332-8th Street, on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the Brandon Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Lam of McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church officiating.
