Obituary of Ruth Irene McLean

McLEAN: It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth McLean (nee Morden) announces her passing on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Brandon Regional Health Centre, at the age of 92. Ruth was born on May 2, 1925, in Morden Manitoba. She was one of ten children born to Albert and Mattie Morden (nee Scheidel). Ruth was the great granddaughter of Alvey Morden who donated the land for which the Town of Morden was named. Ruth married Roy McLean in 1945, with whom she had five children. Ruth was a homemaker and also operated a home daycare business for many years. She was an avid and exceptional gardener, animal lover (taking in many a stray animal over the years) and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Ruth was pre-deceased by her husband Roy McLean, son Michael and granddaughter Tricia. She is survived by her children Jim McLean, Tom McLean, Donna and husband David Brown, and Richard and wife Janice McLean. She was also the doting grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of fifteen, and great-great grandmother of four. A Graveside Service was held June 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brandon Cemetery with grandson Terry Brown as Pallbearer.
