Bertha was a wonderful warm heart woman who befriended my mom as a jigsaw puzzle mate at Fairview. She could be counted on for a giggle (but be careful to not serve her onions!) We enjoyed her yellow Impala Caprice stories.

To Mel, Linda and Doreen our deepest sympathy and love on the passing of this special lady. Bertha was an active member of our church for many years. We could always count on her any time food was needed! She will be missed by many!

I have so many memories of Auntie it's hard to know where to start. She baby sat me when I was little, and there were always peanut butter cookies....she and Uncle Pete let me drive their van when I first got my driver's licence - one way - for some reason they decided to drive back.....Auntie was always there for me if Mom was late getting home from school.....I trick or treated at her house until well into my 20's and always got candy. As long as she was able, Aunty called me on my birthday. I loved Aunty and Uncle Pete both and will cherish the memories that they have given me over the years.
My sincere condolences to the family - we have all lost a treasure.

Bertha and Peter were the best friends and neighbors one could have. They were with us in good times and helped us through difficult ones. There are so many memories from 57 years: shared impromptu meals, a coffee or something break when gardening, fishing and camping trips.
Bertha was a second mother to Patricia and Ellen and they loved her dearly.
Our thoughts are with you--the family she loved so much.
