Obituary of Leslie "Michelle" Nankivell

NANKIVELL: A Celebration of Life will be held for Michelle Nankivell on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Minto Hall. We would like to invite you to share stories of Michelle. Sadly, our dear sister, daughter, auntie and friend suddenly left us to join her mom Phyllis on Friday, July 14, 2017. Michelle was born May 9, 1965 and was a special Christmas present to Lawrence and Phyl that same year. They were so happy to have their beautiful baby girl. Michelle was a big sister to Shannon who arrived a few months later. Michelle grew up in Minto. She attended school in Minto and Boissevain and later university in Brandon. Michelle held many different jobs throughout her life. She cooked, was a teacher's aide, was an operator at MTS, a daycare worker and she was the friendly girl at "Sooper Dave's". Her favourite job was at the Virden Legion where she made some very special friends and could be found giving the regulars a hard time. Michelle made many friends in her life. She was loyal, kind and generous (just ask the local kids who came to her house at Halloween!). She had a huge loving heart. Michelle was the best auntie! She adored "the nephew" and would brag about him constantly. She would rearrange her schedule and drop everything to attend his performances. Michelle's furry children were extremely special to her. The "girls" were the most fortunate dogs and cat to have her for a pet mom. The dogs will be lost without her. Missing her dearly are her dad Lawrence, sister Shannon and nephew Clint as well as family, friends and so many others whose lives she touched.
