Obituary of Vera Pearl Munn

MUNN: Vera Pearl Munn was born in Antler, Saskatchewan on April 7, 1915. She passed away with family by her side at Fairview Nursing Home in Brandon, Manitoba on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the age of 102 years. Vera worked by her husband Bill Couling's side at the Co-Op and raised her two sons in Wawanesa Manitoba. After Bill's passing, Vera married Dalton Munn and they lived and farmed near Nesbitt, Manitoba. She loved to tend to her award-winning gardens and entertain her many friends and family. Her six granddaughters remember many happy summer vacations at the farm. She was a lifetime member of the Wawanesa Rebekah's Hope #28 and had served with the United Church Women's Group. Vera also enjoyed curling, square dancing, cooking, playing cards, music and the people she loved. She was known best for her wonderful sense of humour and kindness. Vera had fond memories of travelling to Hawaii and taking a cruise with her sisters. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt. Vera was predeceased by her husband Bill Couling (25 plus years) and their son Glen Couling; as well as her second husband, Dalton Munn (25 plus years). She was also predeceased by her five siblings: May Smeltz; Grant Churcher; Norma Wilson; Ella Lacey and Bob Churcher. Vera is survived by her son Neil Couling, Brandon, Manitoba; six loving granddaughters; thirteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The interment was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens prior to the service.
