Obituary of Jerry Joseph Lombaert

LOMBAERT: Jerry passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the age of 69 years. Jerry was born on October 17, 1948 in Swan Lake, Manitoba. Jerry attended Swan Lake School, later attending Vincent Massey High School in Brandon and then venturing to Edmonton, AB, where he attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), earning his ticket in instrumentation. The early years of his career were spent at Simplot, then moving to the Manitoba provincial government dental program and, finally later, working in instrumentation with the provincial government. In his early years, Jerry was quite an accomplished boxer, holding the light welterweight title in Manitoba for a time. He also enjoyed golfing, waterskiing, biking and curling. His greatest achievements, however, were his beloved grandchildren. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Oscar Lombaert and Marguerite Wittervrongel; brothers: Larry and George Lombaert and sister Mona Campbell. Jerry will lovingly be remembered by his daughter Jody (Julien) Lafleche and their children Jeri-Ann and Jewel; and his son Jaime (Leah) Lombaert and their children Lacey and Grady; brother Don Lombaert and sister Anita Armitage. A Celebration of Jerry's Life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Jerry may be made the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.
