Obituary of F. Arnold Bridgeman

BRIDGEMAN: F. Arnold passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2017 with family by his side. He was born on March 9, 1933, at Hartney, Manitoba to Jack and Sarah Bridgeman. He was the youngest of eight children (five brothers and two sisters) - Russell (Charlotte), Bill (Marj), Lorne (Edith), Kenneth (Janie), Earl (Eveline), Mary (Ray), Ethel (Dick). His family moved to the farm in Moline in 1934. Arnold was a millwright by trade. He was a founding member of Riverview Curling Club and a member of Central United Church. He met the love of his life in 1948. He and Greta (Maxwell) shared a wonderful life together. Last September they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Arnold's hobbies were curling, golfing and hunting. His love for farming was a huge part of his life. Arnold will be sadly missed by his loving wife Greta, and his surviving family members - sister Ethel, sisters -in -law Eveline and Marj, Ila (Rod) Underhill, Verna Gallant, Buella (Doug) Fowler and their families. He was predeceased by his mother and father- in -law Vern and Ellen Maxwell and brother-in-law Allen Gallant. It was Arnold's hope that in some small way he had contributed something meaningful to the lives of the people he loved. A private graveside service has taken place. A Celebration of Life tea for Arnold will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Victoria Inn, Salon A, 3550 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB.
