Geographical distance made it so that I did not see David often, but I fondly remember him reading to me in my early childhood when he came to visit. It is one of my earliest memories actually - he read to me a book called "Tales of Amazing Maidens." I nearly memorized each story, and to test my knowledge he would pause at the end of the sentence to let me finish it. I never got to formally thank David for helping me learn to read, but I hope I can make him proud by where my propensity for reading has taken me in life. Thank you, granddad.
