Obituary of Lloyd Allan Nevins

NEVINS: Lloyd Allan Nevins of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 58 years. He will be dearly missed by his wife Lori Nevins (Misanchuk), daughter Jennifer (Jeff), and sons Cody (Aly) and Derek (Victoria). Lloyd was born on May 17, 1959 to Vivian and Jack Nevins in Brandon, Manitoba. While attending high school in Brandon and through friends, Lloyd met his soul mate Lori and they later married on October 13, 1984. Lloyd's life work ranged from working at BGH, ACC, Anchor Industries, Federal Pioneer, Boyd Autobody, and lastly Behlen Industries. Lloyd's strong work ethic, loyalty and commitment were characteristics he was very proud of and were a testament to who he was. He loved all of his jobs but the one he took most passionately was being a husband and father. Lloyd loved all sports and participated in many of them growing up and into his adult years. He shared these same passions with his children and could be found at their school/sporting events as the spectator, coach, manager, team chaperone, or volunteer. Lloyd gave freely of his time making a positive impact on the lives he touched. "Uncle Lloyd" or "Lloyder", as he was often called by everyone was one of the greatest compliments he received. He was everyone's friend who could brighten your day with a smile, laughter, good conversation and knew he would always be there for you. Lloyd loved life to its fullest. He enjoyed summers at the family cabin in Minnedosa while the kids were growing up and then later on family trips to Vancouver, Arizona, P.E.I, Jamaica, Mexico and Cuba. Time was also enjoyed in his retirement home in Arizona. Lloyd was predeceased by his mother Vivian, and numerous other loved ones. He is survived by his father Jack Nevins, Sister Phyllis (Laurie) Denbow, as well as numerous brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lloyd's Life was held at Central United Church on February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Joe Ball officiating. Interment followed at Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, PO Box 20077 South PO, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 6Y8. We only part, to meet again.
